Dear memberA very warm welcome to the NFB Yearbook for 2026. This edition reflects a year of continued change for our industry and highlights how the NFB has supported members as they adapt, innovate and plan for the future. The past year has reinforced just how dynamic and complex the construction landscape has become. Ongoing regulatory reform, economic pressures, skills availability and the evolving expectations around safety, sustainability and quality have all influenced the way businesses operate. Throughout 2025, the NFB has remained focused on helping members respond confidently to these challenges with practical advice, clear guidance and a strong collective voice. Our advice and support services continue to develop, ensuring members can access timely, reliable information when they need it most. Ask NFB has become an integral part of this offer, with its growing library of guidance supporting members across employment, contracts, health and safety, legislation and procurement. Alongside our expert advice lines, it provides round-the-clock reassurance in an increasingly demanding business environment.Representation remains at the heart of what we do. Over the past year, our policy team has continued to engage closely with Government, regulators and stakeholders, championing the needs of SME and regional builders. From planning reform, the landfill tax and skills development to building safety and fair procurement, we are committed to ensuring that the practical realities faced by our members are understood at the highest levels.Training and skills development will remain a core part of our service offer. The NFB will deliver additional cohorts of the NFB Leadership Diploma, supporting business owners and senior leaders to strengthen their capability. We will also expand access to Building Safety Act Awareness training and other legislative briefings, helping members stay compliant, reduce risk and operate with confidence as regulation continues to evolve. Our Heritage offering has also gone from strength to strength, with the Heritage Approved Contractor Mark becoming ever more widely recognised. As demand grows for skilled, responsible work on traditional and historic buildings, this accreditation continues to open doors for members and raise standards across the sector.Once again, our events programme has showcased the very best of the industry. Our Heritage and Traditional Build Conference and our Construction Awards of Excellence as well as our other events have provided valuable opportunities to share knowledge, celebrate achievement and strengthen professional connections. It has been particularly encouraging to see so many members recognised for excellence, leadership and innovation this year.Looking ahead to 2026, our mission is clear: to lead and support members through change, provide trusted professional services, offer relentless advocacy and uphold standards of excellence. We will support your business, amplify your voice and help you prepare for what comes next.
