As entries are well underway for the Construction Awards of Excellence 2026, Oscar Acoustics has reflected on winning the Excellence in Sustainable Construction award in 2025 for its Oscar Innovation Centre headquarters in Kent.
The project, which combines a headquarters with a live product showroom, was designed to embed sustainability into both its construction and operational use, showcasing recycled acoustic finishes in a real working environment.
Below, the company reflects on what the award meant and its impact over the past year.

What did winning the award mean to you and your team at the time?
“When we set out to build our new HQ and product showroom, the Oscar Innovation Centre, our goal wasn’t just to create a beautiful space, it was to live and breathe our company values. Sustainability for us has always been about practical, purposeful change, the kind that makes a real difference to how we build, work, and innovate every day.
“To have that acknowledged at the Construction Awards of Excellence meant a great deal. Winning Excellence in Sustainable Construction for our headquarters reinforced that sustainability wasn’t an add-on, but a guiding principle throughout the design and construction of the building.”
What impact has it had over the past year?
“Over the past year, the award has helped shine a light on what we’re trying to achieve as a business. It’s opened up new conversations with clients and partners who share a similar mindset around sustainability and performance. It’s also led to increased interest in visiting the Oscar Innovation Centre, where we regularly host clients to experience our recycled acoustic finishes in a real-world setting.
“Internally, it’s been a real boost too. It’s given the team a sense of pride and reinforced that the way we approach our work genuinely makes a difference.”
What would you say to businesses considering entering this year’s awards?
“It’s absolutely worth doing. The process itself makes you step back and really think about what you’ve achieved and why it matters.
“Be honest, focus on the detail, and don’t be afraid to show the thinking behind your decisions. And if you’re recognised, make the most of it! It’s a great way to celebrate your team and share your story more widely.”
