Dandara Eastern has acquired land south of London Road in Billericay, Essex, with plans to deliver 130 new homes within a mile of Billericay High Street.

The proposed residential development will include 50% affordable housing and is expected to comprise two- to five-bedroom homes.

Planning permission is expected to be submitted ahead of a decision in late 2026, with the first homes targeted for launch in spring 2027.

Landscape-led housing scheme

The development is planned around a landscape-led layout incorporating green corridors, play areas and new pedestrian and cycle connections.

Proposals also include a dedicated wildlife area, wildflower meadows, retained and enhanced hedgerows, new tree planting and nature trails.

The scheme will provide a new shared pedestrian and cycle route, including an upgraded connection along the south of London Road between the development and Tye Common Road.

Dandara Eastern said the plans are intended to protect and enhance existing ecological features on the site while creating new areas of habitat and green space.

£402,200 infrastructure contribution

The development will be subject to Section 106 contributions totalling £402,200 towards local infrastructure and community provision.

Funding will support local healthcare provision, bus services and bus stop improvements, alongside employment and skills initiatives.
