Founded by Managing Director Derek Ward, Envirograf opened its current Barfrestone headquarters in 1994. Manufacturing still takes place at the Kent site that now employs over 120 workers locally – and at the spritely age of 93, Derek Ward continues to work at the company’s HQ, often working six day weeks!

At Envirograf we specialise in passive fire protection, primarily in the form of reactive preventative measures developed to respond to exposure to fire to reduce its damaging effects. Our passive products are effectively always on, often structural, and crucially do not require intervention to become activated (unlike many active fire protection products such as fire extinguishers and alarms). Our intumescent product range is designed to expand upon contact with flame. They create a protective barrier, often resisting fire for between 30 to 60 minutes, providing a critical safety window designed to save the structures they are applied to from any significant damage.
