Three site managers from Gleeson Homes have been named among the UK’s top performers in the 2026 NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards, following a national judging process that assessed thousands of construction sites across the country.
The winners include Frank Majer, Senior Site Manager at Rainsborough Park in Knottingley, Chris Barker, Senior Site Manager at Bluebell Court in Barnsley, and Dave Harris, Site Manager at Middlestone Meadows in Spennymoor.
Harris’ recognition marks the second time he has received the award, reflecting sustained performance in delivering new homes to a high standard.

The NHBC Pride in the Job awards, organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC), are widely regarded as one of the most competitive benchmarks for site management in the UK housebuilding sector.
Often referred to as the “Oscars” of housebuilding, the awards assess site managers across six core criteria: consistency, attention to detail, technical expertise, interpretation of drawings and specifications, leadership, and health and safety.
This year, 449 site managers were selected from more than 7,500 entrants nationwide, placing them among the top 6% of site managers in the UK.
Focus on site management and delivery standards
Scott Stothard, Divisional Chair at Gleeson Homes, said the awards reflect the performance of site teams across the business.
He said: “Receiving these awards recognises the dedication, excellence and consistently high standards demonstrated by our teams. Pride in the Job highlights exactly what it takes to be a top site manager and reinforces our long-term commitment to delivering the highest quality homes for our customers.
“This achievement is very well-deserved and reflects the commitment and passion shown by Chris, Frank, Dave and the wider teams across our winning sites. I would like to wish them all the best as we look ahead to the next stage of the competition at the regional award ceremonies later this year.”
Industry recognition of site leadership
Cassandra Codling, Senior Regional Director at NHBC, said the awards highlight leadership and quality standards within site management.
She said: “Congratulations to the winners, who have demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality. The judges look for site managers who go beyond strong performance and demonstrate qualities that lift a good site manager to an exceptional one.
The competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”
Next stage of the competition
The Quality Award winners will now progress to the next stage of the competition, where they will be considered for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards, due to be announced in autumn.
The national Supreme Award winners will be announced in January 2027.
