The homes have been delivered in partnership with Robertson Construction Eastern on behalf of Robertson Partnership Homes and form part of a wider scheme- alongside Fife Council,  to provide 63 council homes on the site of the former primary school.

Total of 63 homes delivered across two phases

The first phase of the project, completed last year, delivered 43 homes. The latest handover brings the total number of homes completed on the site to 63.

The development has received £5.255m in grant funding from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme.

Mix of housing types and accessible homes

The completed development includes a mix of detached and semi-detached houses, alongside amenity and wheelchair-accessible bungalows. All of the properties have been built to high energy-efficiency standards.

Homes feature high-performance insulation and windows, modern heating systems, photovoltaic (PV) panels and sprinkler systems.

Robertson delivers second of seven projects for Fife Council

The Kennoway scheme is the second of seven housing projects Robertson has been contracted to deliver for Fife Council across the region.

The contractor said the project has had a lasting impact on the local community, with an estimated 272 full-time equivalent local jobs supported during the build. More than £10m was spent with local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), alongside donations to local charities and schools.

Contractor highlights partnership approach

Gordon Milne, regional managing director at Robertson Construction Eastern, said the completion of the second phase reflects a long-standing partnership with the council.

“Reaching this milestone in Kennoway marks another positive step in a long-standing working relationship with Fife Council. As one of a number of projects being delivered together across the region, it demonstrates how a collaborative approach can support the council’s response to the housing emergency while also supporting the local economy.

We look forward to continuing this partnership as work progresses on further developments across Fife.”

Council links development to housing emergency response

Councillor Judy Hamilton, Fife Council’s housing spokesperson, said the new homes form part of the council’s wider response to housing need in the area.

“This handover is another important milestone in our commitment to tackling the housing emergency in Fife. These new houses will provide families and individuals with safe, warm, and energy-efficient places to live, helping to improve health and wellbeing. Every new council house makes a real difference to people’s lives and strengthens our communities.”

Affordable housing programme supports construction jobs

Fife Council said its Affordable Housing Programme not only delivers new homes but also supports jobs and apprenticeships, contributing to the local economy and the construction sector.
