UK Connect has appointed Ross Spence as Head of Technical Operations, with responsibility for leading its Field Service, Network Operations and Service Delivery teams.
The appointment comes as the business continues to scale its operations across the UK construction and defence sectors, supporting growing demand for digital infrastructure and managed connectivity solutions on major projects.
UK Connect provides connectivity and managed network services used across construction and defence programmes, including clients such as Vistry Group, Taylor Wimpey and Cala Homes, as well as the Ministry of Defence.
Role focuses on delivery of network and IoT infrastructure
In his new role, Spence will oversee the design, deployment and maintenance of connectivity infrastructure, IoT networks and managed IT services for UK Connect’s expanding customer base.

The business said demand for its services has increased as construction and infrastructure clients place greater emphasis on digital site connectivity, operational efficiency and data-driven project delivery.
Ross Spence said: “I’m excited to take on this new role and continue my journey with UK Connect. I’m lucky enough to work with an extremely talented team and am proud of what we’ve achieved to this point but also believe there is much more to come. Over the past three years, I’ve gained a deep understanding of our customers’ wants and needs.
“I look forward to continuing this collaboration to support them and UK Connect going forward.”
Spence joined UK Connect in 2023 as a Pre-Sales Network Engineer before moving into a Solutions Manager role, where he led the design and deployment of bespoke network systems.
Business growth driven by construction and defence demand
The appointment forms part of wider growth at UK Connect, which has expanded significantly since its formation nearly 14 years ago.
Joe Budnar-Hunt, CEO at UK Connect, said: “Ross’ promotion reflects the support, collaboration and shared ambition that define our culture. His knowledge of our products and customer-base is invaluable and it’s great to see how far he has progressed during his time with the business. I’m excited to work with him and the rest of the team to continue building on recent momentum, take on new challenges and help drive the next phase of UK Connect’s growth.”
